Corylus Avellana Contora is a small hazel that has twisted stems. It grows well in chalky soil either in sunshine or partial shade. From late winter onwards it bears golden-yellow catkins after which appear fresh green, twisted leaves. It will tolerate average garden soils but it does not like heavy clays. You can also grown it in a large pot, however, it is mainly ideal for growing in a mixed border or front garden area with there is plenty of sunlight.
