James Grieve apples have a slight acidic taste during the early months but this mellows during maturity in September. The flesh of the apple is quite a firm texture before softening over time and they can be used for cooking, eating raw and juicing.  During cooking they will retain their shape.

The fruit has red stripes over pale green and it’s juicy flesh has a refreshing taste. The fruits are ready to be harvested in September and will store until October.

The tree is self-fertile and suitable for patio’s.
