The finely cut foliage of this new cultivar is ‘ever-changing’. In Spring, the fresh new leaves are salmon-pink, maturing to green with a creamy-white margin by mis-summer. In Autumn the foliage turns to lime-green, for a final splash of colour before the leaves fall from the stems.

Acer palmatum ‘Taylor’ is a compact, well-branched variety. This attractive Japanese Maple is perfectly happy in a border or container. Position it well away from the scorch of cold drying winds or blazing hot sunshine. A pretty choice for creating a seasonal focal point on the patio, or in beds and borders. Perfect for courtyards and Japanese-style gardens.

How to Grow

Grow Acer palmatum trees in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. It is quite important to give plants shelter from strong winds which can scorch the leaves. Alternatively grow the Japanese Maple in large containers, using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
Watering
Water regularly throughout the growing season until acer trees are well established. Protect plants from strong winds. Acers require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems if necessary from late autumn to midwinter
