After a lot of preparation, planning and testing we are now delighted to announce the Coffee Shop at Ferndale Garden Centre is now open again.

We are only able to accommodate less than half the seating available before closing. We are also unable to allow queuing inside the garden centre for the coffee shop and if we are full you will be asked to return later after a walk around the garden centre.

Remember all these restrictions are for our team and your safety. We don’t choose to apply these safety protocols. It necessary currently. Blame the Coronavirus.

Unfortunately, since re-opening the garden centre we have had less than 0.01% of our visitors who think it’s acceptable to be abusive to our team. This is not acceptable in our opinion and we will remove anyone abusive from the premises and bar them from re-entry in the future.

As part of the government’s ‘track and tracing’ scheme, we must take the contact details of one of your group in case one of you find you have symptoms of COVID 19 later. Refusal to offer this information will prevent your entry.

Once a table is free, we will take you to your table. Unfortunately, you may not be able to sit where you would like when the coffee shop is busy. You can ask for an outdoor table if one is available.

Ordering has changed. We will take you order from your table, or in fact from your ‘service table’ next to your table. On this ‘service table’ is a sanitiser bottle for your use. We will also bring your order to this table for you to ‘retrieve’ your food and drinks. This allows our team to safely take your order and deliver everything to you at a safe distance.  All condiments are now in sachets to reduce cross infection. Please ask for them.

We have a new menu too. You can see it below and also on site we will hand you a disposable menu to use.

As you expect from us as normal our kitchen team are practising the highest hygiene standards plus safe spacing and one way traveling within the kitchen. Leaving the outdoor area is one way too.

Your order will be stored in our till until you are ready to leave. We are asking that only one person pays at the check out and please note we are only taking card payments for safety.

When you leave the Coffee Shop, we ask them to leave via the exit door into the greenhouse. You must not return to the entrance as crossing those entering will counter 2m spacing. There is a one-way system in place around the rest of the garden centre too that we ask you to follow for your everyone’s safety.

We hope that you can still enjoy your visit and we all look forward to a less restricted future.

Where ever possible we use

British & Local produce

Our special meals are made freshly by ourselves. Occasionally some of the above selection may not be available dependent on popularity on the day.

Homemade soup of the day, fresh sandwiches, panini’s, filled jacket potatoes.

For the Children: homemade fish goujons, sausage rolls, ciabatta pizzas or toad in the hole. All our food is homemade and not out of the packet.

We Love Dogs!

Ferndale Garden centre is a dog friendly garden centre. We always have been. The directors have dogs so we understand that you’d like to have them with you and obviously you can’t leave them in your car on a hot day.

We invite you to bring your dogs with you, the only thing we ask is that you don’t allow your dogs to wee or poo in the garden centre.

Our award winning coffee shop offers great food for you and your family and friends.

Ferndale Coffee Shop is a family friendly meeting place with great fresh food, excellent coffee and a relaxing atmosphere. Ferndale Garden Centre owns and has operated the coffee shop since it’s opening as a small 40 seat coffee shop in 1986.

After a major redesign in late 2014, including a brand new extensive kitchen, a wider range of meals is available, created and produced by our kitchen team.

We bake all our cakes and scones in our own kitchen and the recent improvements allow us to offer you more tasty meals, light lunches and seasonal variation than ever before.

We’re proud to have been voted in the Sheffield Star top ten Sheffield Cafés. And have been shortlisted for the Westside Restaurant Awards 2017 in Café/light bite & family friendly Restaurant.
